Inquiry and Research

Inquiry office

The interest in Schopenhauer’s philosophy is growing. This is not only proven by the increasing number of publications about him but also by an increase of various inquiries about the philosopher as person and his works.

The Schopenhauer-Research Centre wants to accommodate this “Renaissance”. It offers help with scientific research and functions as contact center to get in touch with competent specialists.

Research-relevant information: essay collection, literature and database

Schopenhauer-reception

There is an extensive collection of non-independent literature, i.e. articles published in journals, anthologies and collection of essays on Schopenhauer’s person and work from the estate of Rudolf Malter.

In addition to the Schopenhauer Archive of the City and University Library of Frankfurt am Main, it is one of the main focuses of the work of the Schopenhauer-Research Center to complete and archive this collection.

You can find the essay collection here.

You can find an overview of the newer literature about Schopenhauer here.

Database

The database for the processed files of the Schopenhauer Society is accessible via the internet.

As there are still difficulties in contemplating the Hessian databases, you can access the page of the Archive Centre of the University of Frankfurt here, where you will find help on how to use HADIS.
